A Freddy Decomposition - WIP by onegemini A Freddy Decomposition - WIP by onegemini
"A Freddy Decomposition (unfinished)", October, 2007. Digital Drawing in Photoshop.

Full view for the Robert Englund goodness.

This was the underdrawing for a digital painting I planned to do a while back. Unfortunately, far too many things came up in the meantime. I might attack it again one day, but more likely, I'll probably redraw it.

The Freddy Krueger you see here is based on the incarnation from "Wes Craven's New Nightmare", my personal favorite design, and a movie that I give props for trying something a little different with an established character.

Like I said in the description, it's based on "Wes Craven's New Nightmare", where Freddy's glove is based on the poster illustration for the first movie, and in which the the glove is half metal, half organic, and he indeed does have a blade on his thumb -- [link]

But who reads descriptions anymore, right? ;)

Thanks for the fave.

Sorry to bombard you with my 2nd comment, but how to you draw hat so good?? Just started from the basic forms (geometric shape)?? It looks great! =)

No prob, happy to answer questions.

The hat? I just used photo reference and drew what I saw. *shrug* No real trick there. I admit, the angle in my photo wasn't perfect, and I dropped it to a solid black shape to eliminate any form problems.

I only looked up a photo of the hat when I realized I was drawing a standard fedora on him, while Freddy's actual hat comes off a bit more sinister.

Ah, man that's killer. :) Personally that movie scared the daylights out of me. He was a lot brutal and.... what's the right word... I can't think of it lol. He really brought the screams in that movie :)
